We're beginning the process and I'd like to talk to others who have experience with adoption. I'm feeling a little discourage simply because no matter how prepared we are, it doesn't mean that it will take less time. First we have to wait until Oct. 15th for our orientation meeting. Then it can take up to 2 months before we're assigned a worker and that worker provides paperwork to begin the home study. THEN, even if we have everything ready the day we begin, the worker has 6 months to complete his/her end of the paperwork and of course the home visits. So right now, we're looking at a year before we can meet any waiting children. Then, however long it takes to find a good match and the placement. I wouldn't be so discouraged or impatient but we've already been trying to conceive #2 for a year and a half- it's just MORE WAITING I suppose. Anyone in the same boat?
