This isn't so much a recipe as it is a tip. You know those times when you need a special treat for the little one(s) or need something to do that's not too messy and doesn't take a whole lot of time? I make cookie dough, almost any kind will do, refrigerator cookie dough is best, shape it into a roll(like you buy at the store), wrap it in plastic wrap and toss it in the freezer. I also watch for deals on baking candies like chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter, white chocolate, dark chocolate, etc. chips and m&ms. Also seeds and nuts and dried fruits and keep stocked up on a variety. When cookie time rolls around, all I have to do is cut a couple of slices off of my dough roll and let the little bugger press his own cookie fixins into each slice. We have fun doing it, I don't wind up with a sink full of dishes and it takes all of 10-15 minutes (not including eating time of course ). I'll post some of my favorite cookie recipes to do this with below.
