Can anyone share some fun ways to get kids involved in gardening? Harry "helped" me plant some started plant last year. I was planting sweet potato plants and he was following me, unplanting them.
I've always wanted to plant faerie and moon gardens, or even a combined faerie moon garden. I'd love to hear about other people's gardens- I'd love even more to see pics!

You should try herbs. My kids love to do herbs because they can taste them just by picking a leaf. Cody is 7 and his favorite herb is lemon thyme. It is very lemony. We also grow catnip for the cats. The kids will pick catnip leaves to feed to the cats everytime they go past the planter. Right now we are growing garlic in our flower beds. I let the kids go out with scissors and trim down the garlic so we can use it in fried taters and scrambled eggs. I've also added it to roasts and baked chicken.

MMmmmm you know I'm a sucker for garlic scapes! Herbs are a great idea, I don't know why I didn't think of that! See? I knew I liked you!

I'm good for something! Now just make my kids believe that!
I like to grow my herbs in very large pots. I keep them on my back deck so I can easily trim them and use'em. But my garlic is in my flower beds.

Now is the time to add herbs to your garden and flower pots. The stores have them in and they look really good. I'm thinking about doing a whole mint garden. They have chocolate mint, peppermint, spearmint and alot of others. I've heard you can use mint for cold and hot drinks, brownies and cakes. All kinds of good stuff. The kids should really like it because mint is another one of those herbs that taste good and strong right off the plant.
